Invictus Undone | Isaiah 7
Within the light that surrounds me,
Bright as the sun from pole to pole,
I find the only God that can be
Ready to hold up my helpless soul.
Regardless of my circumstance
I cannot gain ground and I weep aloud,
Battered by every whim and chance,
My whole being bloodied and bowed.
Despite the wrath and many tears,
He draws near to dispel the shade
of my clenching, desperate, needy years;
He cradles my weakness, sings Don’t be afraid.
You need not mind the narrow the gate,
The failing limbs, nor the damning scroll.
I am the master of your fate.
I am the captain of your soul.
