Amidst the Seven Lampstands | Revelation 1

See him standing there, more glorious
than even you can bear. Feel
the holy symbols shining about his brow.
Hear the keys of Hades on his belt.
Smell the bowls of incense rising.
Taste the raw, fierce power in the air,
as though lightning prepares to strike.

Write this down, for every tongue
shall bear this glorious word:
Death is not the sum of our days;
We do not begin and end in evil.
We come from glory and glory hence
shall be the sum of all our days
with Christ the King our glorious Lord.
The dark and canker creeps in,
but now and at the last it is
cast back, revealing a triumph
far outweighing our daily defeat.
