Tithe Poem
Feasting | Luke 24
Put aside weeping and shout: Alleluia!
Put away the mourning for a time,
the sober thoughts and penitent fast.
Their season again will come in due time.
Put aside even the fear, the doubt,
the uncertainty both frantic and paralyzing.
Now, now is the time to make much noise,
to make much of God’s muchness and
to dance, dance. Only by moving with music
can you bask in so glorious a thing.
Dance alongside creation’s blooming,
lush, verdant, sweeping praise. Alleluia!
