The Great Vigil Feast of Easter
There is a light in darkness hid.
By work of bees and art of man,
A candle, crafted sure by hand
With wick plunged through, responds when bid
To light, a flame where once was dark.
A feeble shine, but small things seed
To greatness. There is no end to a deed.
A single sacrifice gives spark.
The Light of Nations—how much more,
Then, does this one thing beget much,
Much, much—this sun is full, as such
Ablaze, whole, bursting. And in store
More yet. All death and wrong He crushed.
Watch now unfold a life more lush.
