Humility, And How I Am The Best At It | Luke 14:1, 7-14

I love my self-examination time—
a cup of coffee with just me,
dating myself to know myself.

Yet over time I’ve found myself
tedious company, always either
higher or lower, more flawed
or more cherished than I feel.

My introspection turns sour
and alarming until I either
distract myself or accept once again
the truth: My life is not my own.
I am loved despite myself.
To be fully alive is to pour myself out
in love. All thanks be to God.
