Foundations of Christian Dying
This is a five week course held between the services on Sundays from April 19th to May 24th.
Foundations of Christian Dying offers a deeply practical and hope filled pathway into the Christian art of dying, an area most believers long for guidance in but rarely receive. Over five sessions, we will learn how Scripture and the riches of Christian tradition shape the way we understand death, prepare for it, walk through it, and accompany others in it. We will explore how to face our own mortality without fear, how to order our lives and relationships wisely, and how to care for the dying and the grieving with distinctly Christian compassion.
The course also provides hands-on guidance for preparing for death and recovering traditional burial practices that honor both the resurrection and the dignity of the human person.
Offered during Eastertide, when our focus is on the risen life of Jesus Christ, this class invites us to see Christian dying through the bright lens of resurrection hope. This course equips us to live and one day die in a way that bears witness to Jesus Christ.
