The Feast of the Annunciation

The Feast of the Annunciation on March 25th marks the angel Gabriel's arrival and proclamation to Mary the virgin of her miracle pregnancy. This date has traditionally commemorated the virgin conception of Christ in the womb, and is the historic origin of our dating for Christmas—exactly nine months later!
