“Brian Fikkert (coauthor of When Helping Hurts) and Kelly M. Kapic look at the true sources of brokenness and poverty and uncover the surprising pathways to human flourishing for poor and non-poor alike. Exposing the misconceptions of both Western civilization and the Western church about the nature of God, human beings, and the world, they fundamentally reframe success and the path forward–shaping our lives and our poverty alleviation ministries in a way that moves us all toward becoming whole.”
If you are interested in helping Christ Church engage well with those in our community who struggle with poverty (perhaps by participating in Jobs for Life) please consider joining this conversation.

“Who were the sons of God? Who were the Nephilim? Where do angels fit into the supernatural hierarchy? Why did God find it necessary to have the Israelites destroy the populations of entire cities man, woman, and child? What relation does Jesus bear to the rest of the supernatural world?
In Supernatural, Michael Heiser, tackles these questions and many more, based on his fifteen years of research into what the Bible really says about the unseen world. Heiser shines a light on the supernatural world—not a new light, but rather the same light the original, ancient readers and writers of Scripture would have seen it in. You may never read the Bible the same way again.”
Supernatural is a shorter companion to Heiser’s book The Unseen Realm, which takes a deeper dive into the same material.
- June 18th – Please read Ch. 1-6
- July 23rd – Please read Ch. 7-11
- August 20th – Please read Ch. 12-16 (plus Conclusion)
